I want to find a cave to get lost in;
damp air that chills me to the bone.
Something slightly bigger than a coffin;
somewhere my mind can feel alone.
I'd like to hop a train to a different way of thinking,
consider why I don't miss my home.
Follow my thoughts 'til there's no hope in braking,
lost in a darkness that is my own.
Lost in a darkness, I can find a solace
where the mountains meet the road.
I want to find a lake to cool my body;
free my mind to travel on its own.
Let the water sit still and surround me;
remember what it's like to be alone.
I've spent too much time in painted deserts;
too many people shuffling their feet.
No time but to push the sand in measure,
while the air dries up my sanity.
While the air is dry, a solace I can find
where the mountains meet the road.
I want to find a cave to get lost in;
free my mind to travel on its own.
Follow my thoughts 'til there's no hope in braking;
lost in a darkness that is my own.
